SUPPORT

  • Irish Community Support Service

The Irish community in Leeds is long-established, but its needs are constantly changing.

Some older members now face health challenges or isolation. Younger generations may be juggling financial pressures, caring responsibilities or navigating cultural identity.

We know that a key part of our role is listening, learning and evolving our support in order to keep meeting the needs of the people we serve.

  • Welfare Advice

We can help you work out what support you’re entitled to, as well as support with applying for an Irish pension, blue badge, attendance allowance and other benefits.

    Email here, or phone 0113 262 5614

  • Befriending

Our befriending service is informal but powerful. We put community members in touch with our volunteer befrienders to foster connections and friendships. If you know someone who’s feeling a little lonely, get in touch.

  • Renewing Roots

Fréa Renewing Roots supports former residents of Ireland's Mother and Baby and County Home institutions and their families. “I do enjoy having visitors because I live on my own and it’s a very lonely life.”
