We held the LIHH Christmas Party at Leeds Irish Centre on Wednesday 6 December and what a celebration it was! Thank you to all our staff, community members, board, volunteers and more for making it an event to remember.
Singer Gary Lee soon had everyone up on their feet, as did DJ Tommy K. They also had some help from members of St Nicholas' Primary School choir, who sang beautifully and deserved their huge round of applause.
Thanks to Carina O'Brien, Vice Consul General of Ireland for the North of England, for coming, as well as members of our Board. Thanks also to our friends from Leeds Jamaica Society, as always, for supporting us.
Huge thanks also to Lynne Gilboy and team for the delicious food, to Leeds Irish Centre for hosting us and to our army of staff and willing volunteers - you were troopers and made the day a huge success!
It was incredible to see the room full of smiling faces, Santa hats and sparkle - the perfect way to kick off the festive period. And, in fitting tribute to Shane MacGowan, we all danced and sang along to Fairytale of New York to round off the day.
Finally, thanks to Peter Rollings, for capturing proceedings in these wonderful photographs.
Merry Christmas from everyone at Leeds Irish Health & Homes - we'll see you all again next year!
